A Doctor of Audiology is trained to do much more than selling hearing aids. Dr. Pladdys will provide a full range of hearing care services. We understand that selecting the right hearing aids is just the beginning of your path to better hearing. That’s why we offer a variety of related services designed to improve the quality of your life.
Dr. Pladdys will begin by performing a hearing evaluation. She’ll use the results of this test, along with your personal preferences, to determine if hearing aids are an appropriate course of treatment. Continual improvements are being made in the hearing aid industry, including the development of miniature, high-tech computerized instruments. There are many choices in a wide price range that will work within your budget.
Follow-up visits will be an important part of your path toward better hearing. We want to be sure that you are a satisfied patient. During these visits, your doctor will discuss additional skills that make living with a hearing loss that much easier. We are genuinely concerned about your hearing and the quality of service you receive.
MaryAnn Pladdys, Au.D.
Dr. MaryAnn Pladdys has been an audiologist for over 30 years, specializing in adult clinical audiology, as well as hearing aid selection and fittings. Dr. Pladdys received her Master of Science Degree in Communication Sciences / Audiology from Hunter College of CUNY, and her Doctorate in Audiology from Arizona School of Health Sciences.
Throughout her career, Dr. Pladdys has practiced at many hospitals and medical offices in New Jersey, including Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, and Overlook Hospital in Summit. She was the coordinator of the Cochlear Implant Program at Overlook Hospital from 2003-2006, and worked in a private practice from 2006-2010. Dr. Pladdys was also the Director of Audiology at Associates in Otolaryngology of NJ for 9 years.
Dr. Pladdys is passionate about building relationships with her patients and works diligently to find the best solution available for each patient’s unique lifestyle and hearing issue. Her goal is to guide patients to make an educated decision about which device is best for them to achieve a better quality of life.
Dr. Pladdys is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and the Academy of Doctors of Audiology. She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. Dr. Pladdys is a NJ licensed Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dispensing Supervising Licensee.
